What the Dash means to me - Nick Bishop

Hi Everyone,

Nick here, I’m incredibly proud to have done each of the Dash rides since they started and this will be my fourth - I don’t confess to being a cyclist, my background is running (although even there, I now coach!).

I am always fascinated by people, what limits people and the benefits of a real team ethos. When Catriona asked me to get involved in the first Dash ride, and why.. it was a complete ‘yes’ from me straight away.

Over the years during the Dash, I have watched people laugh and cry.. the latter with the sheer jubilation of achieving something that previously, they may have considered impossible. The laughter being just part of being one big team. Everyone with their own personal reasons for doing the Dash, but with one objective - to finish, have some fun, and raise money for a great cause.

It makes me realise how true the words of the great marathon runner Eliud Kipchoge are - ‘No human is limited’.

I’m looking forward to seeing you all on the day - be very proud of what you are doing, and remember that remarkable things can be achieved by a group of likeminded individuals, all working as one!

See you there, Nick.
